This is one of the best recipes I have ever made and eaten. I have made it numerous times as this is my go to recipe for Oatmeal Raisin cookies. The key that I have seen not in other recipes is the nutmeg! I have baked these and mailed them, and the first thing talked about is the nutmeg flavor. An absolute homerun of a recipe! Bake it, and bake it again! YOU WILL NOT BE SORRY!

My family said these cookies were exactly what they wanted! They were simple to prep using a scale, had great texture (thin, crispy edges and chewy center), and were nicely spiced. I found them just a bit too sweet for my preference, but otherwise no notes!

These cookies only use 3/4 cup of butter that's what 12 T equals. Maybe try again using this suggestion ?

Make sure the raisins are fresh. If they've been in your cabinet for a year or more, they dry completely out and are hard as rocks. Taste them first and make sure they are still soft and chewy.

"Make sure they are fresh, and not dried out or hard" for raisins I'm confused because the only raisins they sell in store are the dried type "Seedless Golden Raisins Carton" or the sun-maid is all my store carries
