Hey any suggestions on how to make butterscotch chips? These days they seem to be just a mess of palm oils and chemicals. Pretty sure that’s what causes the grainy, non-melty, problem.
Thanks!

Is the consistency of the blondie supposed to be a little gooey when they come out? I cooked for an extra 5-10 mins and they still seemed batter like and not crumbly, unless they’re supposed to firm up overnight? Otherwise delicious!

It could be your oven, or the pan you are using - dark metal and glass heats faster, so if you are using either of those, I would switch to a lighter metal pan. You can also use a second layer of parchment paper up the sides to help insulate it a bit more. If my sides ever get too toasty, I just trim off those parts and eat the rest.

I want these to work so badly as I love the normal Scotcharoo recipe, but I keep running into a problem where the bars burn on the edges, but the blondie is still underdone! I’m not sure if there’s an issue with my oven, but any suggestions on how to prevent this would be deeply appreciated!

Wonderful and unique recipe! My husband really likes the two different textures. I used milk chocolate instead of the bittersweet and they turned out beautifully. I’ll definitely be baking these again soon!

My husband had the same response as Diane's son about the cover bars. *drool*

Sarah, to clarify, do you mean the cover photo is of the "Bourbon Blondies"? I scoured every recipe and photo in the book too!
