Fat Daddio makes a 3" x 2" round anodized aluminum mini straight sided cake pan for $2.99 each on the webstaurantstore.com website (Amazon charges a lot more). Would anodized aluminum give the same caramelization as the copper molds? I don't think I'd give the copper molds enough use to justify spending ~$500 for 10 molds. (I do love the copper Mauviel pans. I have a tarte tatin pan that I dragged home from E. Dehillerin in Paris. Love it--and the memories.)

I am going to try something with these for our bake sale. Two buns side by side in those small paper baking loaf pans. So many older people just want one or two of something, so this should be perfect. So thrilled to have found this recipe.

These sound wonderful. Came over here to get the recipe and was hoping to see a place to try to get 1 of those 5 new books 'for the holiday'. I see I still have to go to instragram... which I don't do. Thanks anyway for the recipe. Can't wait to try it.
