Hi Elaine – The braid tastes best the day it is made. I haven’t tried shaping the braid and then letting it rise overnight in the fridge, but I’m thinking that would work just fine. I just used a supermarket-brand jelly, and it tasted great. 🙂

I have lived in Denmark and my wife is Danish. They don’t know what cream cheese is in Denmark. Definitely not Danish. Now if you substituted that for marzipan, then you would be in the ballpark of true vinnebrod.
