Wow. This cake was really good. The loaf was chocolately, buttery, and moist with a thin and crackly brownie-like top. I made it using a mix of semisweet (55%) and bittersweet (70%) chocolate since that's what I had around, but if I make this recipe again I'd use all bittersweet--there was definitely enough butter and sugar in the batter to balance an intense chocolate. The loaf sliced neatly after chilling in the fridge and the pieces held together well at room temperature later on. I enjoyed it and so did my coworkers. Some even came back for seconds.

I baked it in a 9x5 pan and followed the instructions to assemble a parchment paper liner. It took a few minutes to do, but the photos were easy to follow. I strongly recommend using cooking spray pretty generously to stick everything together. I accidentally did the first bake temperature at 350F v. 375F. The cake wound up taking about 70 minutes total to bake and didn't sink as dramatically as the photo in the post--it just went from domed to flat while cooling. I'd probably use the lower initial temperature on purpose next time. It took a little longer, but the texture was great and I think I like the look of a flat top better than sunken.
