These cookies are so excellent! I made them at Christmas, and everyone said these were some of the best cookies they’ve ever had. I’ve been searching for a recipe to match a cookie I tasted a year ago, and this is it! The fresh grated ginger and candied ginger raise these to a whole other level. I followed the recipe pretty much to the t and I honestly don’t see much room for improvement. An excellent cookie to add to the cookie catalogue.

No reason to wait until winter – these are so good! Took longer to bake 40 mg portions but otherwise as written.

Is the grams of weight correct on the molasses? I weighed everything and have a very wet dough. the amount of molasses seemed like more than 1/3 cup.

I made these gluten free and dairy free and they turned out so so good! I used Better Batter gf flour and Miyokos plant butter l. Will definitely make again!!

Why tapdDown the cookies;
why not leave the cookies puffed up ?

Delicious! Love the flavor and texture of these cookies. I made mine small so I could get more of them but it would be fun to make just a few really big ones next time. I used a very small amount of crystallized ginger – I might try using more next time.

These are my family’s favorite cookies.
I give them at gifts during the holidays to rave reviews!
These freeze so well! I tend to make the cookies a little smaller so as to have more cookies to go around!

In reply to Susan. Hi! If your cookies spread more than you are expecting, your oven likely runs lower than it reads. An inexpensive oven thermometer can help you adjust.
