Very laborious recipe but sooo delicious. I did have to blend my icing to get rid of the cream cheese chunks. I read the comments before I tried the recipe so I knew there would be some troubles. I too also had wayyy too much sugar for the insides, For improvements I would ask that there be consistency with measurements of ingredients... for some ingredients its an exact weight in grams and others it just says 2 tablespoons... step by step pictures or a video would also be very helpful!

Made this recipe for the first time for our thanksgiving. I would agree with other comments saying that the instructions were vague in parts of the recipe but it turned out amazing. Everyone loved it and the apple flavor really comes through giving it a balance of sweet and tangy. I didn't use a pullman loaf pan and mine still turned out beautiful. Definitely would recommend if you have time to put into it and are willing to think through the recipe where it is confusing.

This sounds amazing, but I have a couple of questions... First, can I use a normal loaf pan if I don't have a pullman? If so, should I just change the size of my slices that get stacked in there to match my pan? Or just stick with what you have suggested and assume it'll settle into the pan well enough? Next up... the step after assembly where you let it rise for an hour in the pan... Is that a step that could be replaced with a slow rise in the fridge overnight? Are there drawbacks to that? Thanks so much for any feedback!

Working with this dough is pure joy. The loaf is now proofing on my counter. I can hardly wait to bake and frost it! Is there any better aroma on a cold autumn morning than apple cider and cinnamon?

I'm changing my review! I decided I needed to make this bread again to try to get the icing better and since I had all the ingredients, I got to work on a second batch. I am SO glad I did! I think this time I did a better job with the folding in step one. I don't have a stand mixer, so did it by hand. I also only used about 1/3 cup of sugar for the filling, which was perfect. For the icing, I boiled the apple cider for 4 min which really reduced it. I added a little more cream cheese than the last time and had it sitting out with the butter while the bread was rising. This made it incorporate into the apple cider much better. The icing was PERFECT!!! The taste is true perfection. The bread is crunchy on top and gooey, cinnamon, apple caramel in the inside. Thank you so much for sharing this delicious bread! Now, I'm going to enjoy another piece with my coffee:)
