This snack cake is amazing! Almost a Carmel Apple vibe, or a butterscotch brownie apple coffee cake situation.

I’ve made it twice now and both times it took 15 minutes longer to bake than the recipe said. Not sure why but I’m guessing I’m sogging the apples too much or something?? My over has a thermometer, and I’m weighing ingredients so that’s all I can think of.

These were wonderful, even better than expected. I loved the texture, they are a cross between a blondie and a coffee cake. They were moist and gave apple cider donuts vibes especially with the sugar topping topping! I didn't have any Apple Jack but put in a splash of VT Sapling Maple bourbon whiskey and also a little boiled cider. Mine took 10 -12 minutes longer in the oven than the recipe called for. Will absolutely make these again!

Amazing. I halved the recipe and did an extra tsp of boiled cider and then baked in a loaf pan. 30 minutes and came out beautifully. Thick and moist like a blondie but the dark brown sugar notes with apple feels much more grown up.

Rocket- I, too, thought it seemed a bit mushy, so I baked it an extra 20 minutes (which is a lot, I know). The top didn’t burn at all and it was less mushy. Not like other cakes, but rather gooey and delicious. Worked for me!

I made this yesterday. My toothpick came out clean, but the cake was very wet and seemed to be underbaked. I baked it for 25 minutes. Is this the way it is supposed to be? It.was delicious but kind of mushy.

This sounds delicious. I’m a little confused about the steaming of the apples. Do you put them in a steamer or directly in the cider? And if directly in the cider, isn’t that boiling? Thanks!
